Valorant Patch 2.02

Valorant is about to make things a little harder. The most recent patch of the game, published on Tuesday, makes rifles more inaccurate if players shoot them as they run. Thanks to this fix, when players are running, both rifles are now substantially less accurate and also marginally less accurate while they're walking or crouching. This implies that players would need to stop their movement completely before firing in most battles, especially those that occur over longer ranges, in order for their shots to reach their target accurately. The details about the patch notes are given below.

When Does the New Valorant Update Come Out?

The Valorant update 2.02 patch notes were released on Tuesday and the updates are rolled out to all devices, Valorant players in India started to search for valorant patch 2.02 release date in India, and Valorant Latest update size, all the details about the new features and bug fixes in Valorant are given below.

What is the New Valorant update?

In the latest patch released on Tuesday for Valorant called the patch 2.02, the new features and bug fixes in Valorant 2.02 update are as follows,

Weapon updates

Rifle Movement Accuracy update (Bulldog/Guardian/Phantom/Vandal)

We also massively increased the amount of error that all rifles get while moving and firing to help combat the feeling of rifle running kills. While moving with rifles, these changes will make kills rarer, especially at longer ranges, but still possible up close. We will closely track this and will continue to fine-tune it as needed.

  • Running Error across rifles increased 3.75 >>> 5.0
  • Walking Error across rifles increased .8 >>> 1.1
  • Crouch-moving Error across rifles increased .3 >>> .8

Competitive Updates

  • Increased convergence of rank rating efficiency: players can now converge faster to their Match Making Rating (MMR), needing fewer games to demonstrate their rank
  • This would make it so that players in fewer matches get to the rank they deserve.
  • This will help everyone get to a level/leaderboard rank that displays their potential faster. We tried to be a little cautious about introducing the new ranked system, but believe you had to play too many games in some instances to achieve your intended rank. By doubling the efficacy of convergence, players could see 40+ Rated Rating increases on the extreme ends, moving them faster to their proper rank.
  • Iron through Diamond players who perform exceptionally well in a game (weighed against their own average performance) will receive a bonus Rank Ranking
  • In a match, we want to reward players who "pop-off," performing above expectations.
  • This will help to illustrate those matches where your average performance is "outclassed." In exchange, you're just going to rank a little faster, and you're going to be praised for the games where you kill it. Note, this is doing better than your average, not doing better than your rivals or your teammates.
  • Consider this another device that helps battle the smurfs that in a game do really well.
  • Changed Diamond 3 to a capped pre-made size of 2 players
  • Before going into Immortal, we wanted' proving grounds' and this would prepare players for the leaderboard and build a 5-stack buffer before Immortal.
  • Although we respect and want to help all of you who are willing to play and participate as much as possible with your mates, we also want to ensure that players who make it onto the Leaderboard have a high degree of confidence and competitive integrity.
  • We want to preserve Immortal+'s reputation, and believe we need a small buffer to ensure that before getting into Immortal, players demonstrate their potential.

Mode Updates

  • Added a rate limiter to the in-game weapon store to keep players from spamming purchases in quick succession, which caused a potential performance issue
  • The rate-limiting is lenient in most modes, but more strict in deathmatch.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where players could silently plant the spike (credit here)
  • Fixed an issue where picking up weapons stacked on top of each other, resulting in attempts to pick up both
  • Fixed a bug where the Chat Box would remain open in-game

  • Fixed issue where various abilities did not work inside Brimstone and Jett’s smoke, even when they were visible to their target
  • Fixed issue with Omen’s Shrouded Step targeting that caused it to get stuck on corners at a much greater distance
  • Fixed issue where throwing Yoru’s Fakeout through a teleporter caused another projectile thrown afterwards to play the Agent audio instead of the object audio
  • Fixed Skye’s Seeker’s not being able to find enemies on the zipline platform on B-site of Split
  • Fixed Yoru getting stuck in various spots on maps when using Gatecrash
