- Take the square piece of paper and fold it into 8 equal folds.
- To get the folds equally spaced out, keep folding the paper in half and unfold it to get some guide crease to work on.
- Now unfold and re-crease.
- Alternate your fold until the paper takes up a shape like a concertina.
- Now cut the paper into 4 equal parts.
- Stick the four pieces of paper, end to end using glue.

- Take a square piece of paper.
- Fold it diagonally in half to form a triangle.

- Continue folding in half again to get an even smaller triangle.
- Now, rotate the triangle in a way that the longest side is positioned vertically.
- Bring the bottom short side towards the long side.
- Cut above the horizontal straight edge that is sticking out of the fold.
- Now, draw an arc from the top corner of the vertical side and end it about ½ an inch before the bottom of the opposite side.
- Cut along the arc.
- Slowly unfold to reveal an eight-petal flower. You can decorate the centre by cutting out a circle from different colour or patterned paper and paste it on top of it.
